11 High-Paying Jobs in Solar Available Today

Intro & Methodology

In an earlier blog post, we analyzed the salaries across different categories of solar jobs to give an overview of what earnings you can expect.  In this post, we will highlight 11 high-paying jobs in solar that you could apply to today.  These are typically mid-level to more experienced roles and are intended to give you real examples of what you can achieve if you are just starting your career in solar or looking to advance further.

We have normalized all salaries into hourly rates given the vast majority of solar jobs are posted using hourly salaries. This will allow you to easily compare across job postings and categories. We’ve assumed full-time work for 52 weeks (2080 hours total), so a $50 hourly salary is $104,000 annually.  We have also used the minimum salary posted on job descriptions, so these earnings are very much the starting point for these roles.  Given many solar jobs may require occasional overtime to get the job done, you’d likely earn quite a bit more than these high salaries we’ve already quoted.  As we've highlighted before, if you're applying to Solar Sales jobs, make sure you understand how Sales Compensation can break down.
